This Privacy Policy describes the policies and procedures of Furcord Group regarding the collection, use, processing, transfer, storage, and deletion of user information across our client applications, web portals, voice/video networks, and server communications.

1. Categories of Data Collected

  • Account Identity Credentials: Verified email address, unique account handle/username, user-configured avatar images, biographical descriptions, cryptographic password hashes, and multi-factor authentication (2FA) recovery seeds.
  • Age & Legal Consent Verification: Self-reported date of birth collected at registration exclusively to enforce the strict 13+ age requirement and comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
  • Communications & Message Content: Text channel messages, direct messages, attachments, image files, audio snippets, custom server emojis, pinned items, and server roles.
  • Voice & Video Network Telemetry: Channel occupancy timestamps, audio bitrate settings, packet drop metrics, connection jitter, and server region routing endpoints (audio/video streams are routed in real-time and are not permanently recorded unless recorded locally by channel members).
  • Technical Hardware & Diagnostic Data: Client IP addresses, operating system version, browser user-agent strings, unique machine identifiers, network crash traces, and connection latency metrics.
  • Financial & Subscription Data: If you purchase subscriptions or virtual enhancements, third-party payment gateways process your billing address, credit card numbers, and tax data. Furcord Group does not store complete payment card credentials on its servers; we retain only randomized transaction reference IDs, subscription statuses, and purchase receipts.

2. Legal Bases and Operational Purposes of Processing

Furcord Group processes data strictly pursuant to the following lawful grounds:

  • Contractual Performance: Delivering real-time text chat, routing low-latency voice and video channels, authenticating logins, and managing guild administrative permissions.
  • Platform Integrity & Security: Running automated security checks against malicious links, detecting distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) vectors, neutralizing bot-driven spam attacks, and identifying token-logging scripts.
  • Statutory & Legal Compliance: Fulfilling binding federal warrants, valid court orders, subpoenas, and child protection mandates.
  • Legitimate Business Interests: Investigating infrastructure performance, fixing application crashes, evaluating server capacity constraints, and defending against civil or regulatory claims.

3. Strict Child Safety & Mandatory COPPA Policy (13+ Floor)

  • Under-13 Total Exclusion: Furcord is an online service strictly restricted to users aged thirteen (13) and older. We do not knowingly solicit, gather, or maintain personal information from individuals under 13.
  • Onboarding Block: Our registration process requires users to provide their date of birth. If a submitted date reflects that an individual is under 13 years old, onboarding is immediately halted and technical client markers block subsequent attempts on the device.
  • Mandatory Purge Protocol: If Furcord Group receives verified notice or has reason to believe that an account belongs to a child under 13, our Trust and Safety team will immediately:
    • Permanently suspend and terminate the account;
    • Sever all active gateway and voice sessions;
    • Purge all personal identifying information, IP records, and profile details from our active production systems in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
  • Parental Inquiries: Parents or legal guardians wishing to report an underage user may send an urgent notice to support@furcord.org with the subject line: COPPA Urgent Minor Inquiry.

4. Zero Data Selling & Restricted Disclosures

Furcord Group never sells, rents, leases, or trades user personal data, chat transcripts, or member directories to third-party data brokers, advertising agencies, or marketing companies. Data disclosures are made strictly under the following circumstances:

  • Infrastructure Contractors: Third-party cloud storage vendors, data centers, distributed edge networks (CDNs), and transactional email providers who process data under binding confidentiality and data protection agreements.
  • Law Enforcement & Exigent Emergency Situations (18 U.S.C. § 2702(c)): We may disclose user records, IP histories, and communications to law enforcement authorities without a subpoena if we have a good-faith belief that an emergency involving imminent danger of death or serious physical injury requires immediate disclosure.
  • Mandatory Child Safety Reporting: We report all detected instances of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or exploitation directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
  • Corporate Transactions: If Furcord Group undergoes a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of company assets, user accounts and associated records may be transferred as an operational business asset, subject to the privacy commitments established herein.

5. Data Retention & Secure Purging Procedures

  • Operational Lifecycle: Profile attributes and active server data persist for the active duration of the user account.
  • User-Initiated Deletions: When a user or server moderator deletes a message or file attachment, the content is immediately removed from public display and API indexing. Deletion scripts purge the records from active production databases within thirty (30) days. Residual encrypted data fragments may persist in secure offsite disaster recovery backups for up to ninety (90) days before being permanently overwritten.
  • Account Deletion: Users may initiate account deletion via account settings. Following a brief grace period to protect against account takeovers, identifying profile attributes and IP logs are completely anonymized or expunged within thirty (30) days, except for transaction history or moderation logs retained for mandatory legal compliance.

6. User Rights & Jurisdictional Privacy Protections

Depending on your geographic location (including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act/CPRA, Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, or the European General Data Protection Regulation/GDPR), you hold specific privacy rights:

  • Right to Know & Access: You may request a machine-readable archive of your personal account data.
  • Right to Rectification: You may update inaccurate personal details directly within client account settings.
  • Right to Erasure: You may request the permanent deletion of your account and personal data.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: Furcord Group will never deny you service, charge differential rates, or degrade your platform experience for exercising your statutory privacy rights.
